Beautiful William Morris Fabric From Closs & Hamblin.

A classic Morris pattern originally designed as a wallpaper in 1864 Fruit has been carefully adapted into a luxurious velvet seen here for the first time. Reproduced in a variety of authentic colourways Fruit Velvet also features the magnificent contemporary tones of Walnut and Bullrush. In 1866/7 Morris & Co. was commissioned to decorate the Green Dining Room of the South Kensington Museum, now the Victoria and Albert Museum, with similar motifs of fruit and leaves.

Please note shade variation may occur due to differences in screen resolution and manufacturer dye lots.

As a political theorist, publisher, environmental campaigner, poet, as well as an outstanding designer, William Morris (1834–1896) was one of the single most influential figures of the nineteenth century. Under his direction, Morris & Co. grew to the status of Arts & Crafts icon that it remains to this day. Drawing inspiration from original 19th-century logbooks and William Morris designs in their archive, this authentic Morris & Co. collection is tailor-made for every budding craftsperson. Sharing the unequivocal joy of familiarity, this collection is an interpretation of memories. Of sights, sounds, patterns and places. Of experiences and being together. The awakening of a budding landscape, sprinkled with bright greens, copper-tipped reds, summer yellows and framed by a sparkling blue sea. Warmth, growth and a renewing of life.
