Morris Simply Severn Bayleaf Green Annatto Curtain Fabric. A dual-purpose fabric produced on a soft cotton/linen blend, Severne was originally designed by J.H. Dearle in 1880 and printed at Morriss Merton Abbey workshop in South London. An elegant damask of acanthus leaves framing a central flowerhead, this is a new design for the Simply Morris collection. As a political theorist, publisher, environmental campaigner, poet, as well as an outstanding designer, William Morris (1834–1896) was one of the single most influential figures of the nineteenth century. Under his direction, Morris & Co. grew to the status of Arts & Crafts icon that it remains to this day. Drawing inspiration from original 19th-century logbooks and William Morris designs in their archive, this authentic Morris & Co. collection is tailor-made for every budding craftsperson. Sharing the unequivocal joy of familiarity, this collection is an interpretation of memories. Of sights, sounds, patterns and places. Of experiences and being together. The awakening of a budding landscape, sprinkled with bright greens, copper-tipped reds, summer yellows and framed by a sparkling blue sea. Warmth, growth and a renewing of life.
