This beautiful Sanderson fabric available from Closs & Hamblin. Aesops Fables was taken from a multi-coloured print from Mulhouse in France dating to the 19th century. This adaptation was painted in monotone colours first and then the painted design was pressed onto damp linen transferring the textures of the pattern. This toile features well-loved scenes from Aesops Fables such as The Tortoise and the Hare and The Fox and the Stork.
